WISPEN - Information and Rarity Sheet

These are my new closed species! They're called the Wispen. I'm gonna write some more info on them down below!



What are the Wispen?

The Wispen are a race comprised of dead humans (and rarely, humanoids, thus occasionally other races can become a Wispen too) who's souls were too determined to fade and too strong to become incoporeal (like a Ghost). Therefore, instead of becoming a ghost or just leaving the mortal or spirit realms, they become an entirely new coporeal race. They have no memories of their past life except for how they died, and how they felt just before dying. That emotion becomes the strong emotion they can feel; however, it does not mean they cannot feel anything else. They can, very much so.

I.E: A girl is in a car crash suddenly and dies. Before death, she felt a strong happiness from being with her family and having fun. Therefore, her strongest emotion is happiness.

Do Wispen live in the same physical realm as humans and humanoids?

Yes! Wispen even interact with other species; however they are known to be very shy outside of their own kind. It is unknown why, but it is theorised that it is because other races may cause Wispen to feel uneasy about their past life. Wispen are also able to communicate with the dead; this is thought to be a result of their own deaths because in dying they became stronger with a new fresh body.

Can Wispen physically eat and sleep, and do they need to?

Wispen can physically eat and sleep and need it like humans do; but they need it less. Where a human needs 3 meals a day, a Wispen needs around half that. Where a human would need 6-8 hours of sleep, a Wispen would need 3-4. They CAN eat and sleep longer if they want to, but they do not require it.

WHAT do Wispen eat?

They are omnivores for the most part, but Wispen have a tendency for meat after their life ended. Psychologists can only predict that it has something to do with their own bodies...

That aside, they are immune to poisons and illnesses. Therefore, eating poisonous or venomous creatures/plants does not harm them.

Can Wispen die?

They can; but they live three times as long as humans do. They can be injured like humans, but they do not die from poisons or illnesses due to their unique immunity.

How are Wispen seen in Human Society?

There has been many debates about how Wispen should be treated due to being humans in a past life but no longer falling under humans rights. So far, humans currently see them as lesser, but with determination and willpower, Wispen have regained SOME of their previous human rights. Such as;

The ability to have sex with, and breed with, humans.
The ability to own a home.
The ability to own and wear clothes.
The ability to own a pet.
The ability to earn money and have a job.

These are just a few examples. On the downside, Wispen are subject to:

Racism
Slavery
False accusal of a crime
Being a target of a crime
'Fetishism' in sex.

Hilariously, for some reason, some Wispen embrace being someone's 'Pet' in slavery, as it means they have a roof under their head and food and everything they need.

Can Wispen even have children?

Yes; their corporeal bodies allow for them to mate with people of their own kind and humans. However the child will always been a Wispen due to the stronger, more dominant genetics of the Wispen. Also, having children with humans and even being in a relationship with them is an uncommon (but not unheard of) occurance.

Other than speaking to the dead, do Wispen have any special abilities?

Telekinesis is a large part of their power, but it is not overpowered; for example they can only lift so much at a time when moving an object. They cannot lift a 120lb human, but they can lift another Wispen as Wispen are lighter.

What time of the 24hour day are Wispen most active?

Generally from noon until 8am the next day if they are not owned into slavery. In slavery, they wake at the same time as a human, and TRY to sleep for a full 6 hours at least.

Can Wispen interact with races other than humans?

By all means, yes! After all, Wispen are not solely derived from Humans. However, again, it is a rarer occurance.

Do Wispen go by biological genders?

No; however they do have male and female genitalia, thus the more close-minded Humans do call them by such. Wispen refer to themselves as They/Them.
